What is Desert Sorcerer: the Seven Spires about?

This is a roleplaying group set in the world of Mtahh mn Alnar, a world influenced by Tales from 1001 Arabian Nights, video games set in Arabic worlds such as Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia, the religion of Zoroastrianism and also the anime and manga Magi: Labyrinth of Magic.

The storyline is simple: you are a magus that is alive during the time of a certain event called the Artfa’e, the rising of seven spires from the ancient world. On top of this, you discover a Djinn Vessel that contains your very own Jinni that you control. (Effectively, you’re roleplaying two characters). The main aim is to develop and grow your character from a rookie magus to whatever you desire, with complete freedom in the story.

All we ask is for you to have fun and from time to time fulfil missions in the story.

Remember this: Nothing is Real, Everything is Permitted. (So Sayeth Al Mualim) We really want this group to only be limited by the boundaries of imagination rather than what some authority figure says.

Rules of Desert Sorcerer

1. No limitations to what your magus can be in society, though please take into consideration the different views of the cities towards magi. It’s really unlikely that a magus will be anything but a slave in a city like Mdynh Aldhb. That being said, if you want your character to be quite high up in the social status (i.e. like a rebel leader in Almdynh mn Al’eaj or someone quite high up in the courts for Altywr Mdynh or Mdynh Alnafwart) its best to run it past us founders first. We would like it if we had a mix of characters, not just a bunch of aristocrats running around willy nilly.

2. Strictly no godmodding.

3. Mary Sues and Gary Stus are unwanted. I.E. no perfect princesses that have everyone fall in love with them, or super powerful warriors without any weaknesses. We do want SOME realism.

4. Strictly no general rudeness to others. (In other words, be excessively nice to each other when you’re out of character).

5. Please remember that no one is starting off very powerful. Besides, where’s the fun in having an all-powerful character when you can’t help them to grow further?

6. No murdering other characters (unless with consent from the creator and giving us founders a warning of the heinous crime!)

7. HAVE FUN! It’s the best sort of compliment to us creators. :D
